Congress President Sonia Gandhi will arrive on a two-day visit to her parliamentary constituency Rae Bareli on Thursday. On the first day, Sonia Gandhi will lay the foundation stone for the project of strengthening and broadening works of two roads on the National Highway 24 B during a function in Indira Gandhi Auditorium at Firoz Gandhi PG College.

The roads which are set to widen and strengthen are 70 km long Lucknow-Raebareli road and 105.90 km long Raebareli-Allahabad road. Rs. 635.90 crores Lucknow-Raebareli road project is scheduled complete in two and half years. The other project, widening and strengthening of Raebarel-Allahabad road - costs Rs. 291.36 crore and is scheduled to complete in 540 days. The projects have already obtained clearance from all the relevant authorities.

Later in the day, the Congress President will take part in Roza Iftar at the Asia Utsav lawns.

On Friday, Sonia Gandhi will interact with people of her constituency at the Buemau guest house and also would attend a meeting of the district monitoring committee at Bachat Bhawan.
