Priyanka Gandhi Vadra: I am not seeking vote for Congress but for your future
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who has been campaigning in Raebareli, said that she has not come to seek votes in favour of Sonia ji or Congress but for the future of the people in Uttar Pradesh.
“I am not here to seek your votes in favour of Sonia Ji or Congress. I have come here to seek votes for your future. I just want to tell you this is an opportunity for you to elect a Government which will not victimize you. Elect a Government which is committed to work for development, devoted, sincere and transparent. This is a chance to bring back progress in your state and change the bad state of affairs in the region, said Priyanka Gandhi striking an emotional chord with the people”.
While addressing an election meeting at Sadar assembly segment in Raebareli she urged the voters to change the politics and change the state Government by electing Congress candidates in the ongoing assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh.
Stressing the importance of this election, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said “You know that there are serious issues in front of you. Please remember that this election is not to elect your MLA or state Government but to determine your future. You have been experiencing what has been the state of affairs in your state for the past 22 years. You have been witnessing a negative politics which always negates you. There are a number of examples to prove my point”.
“You know that Sonia Ji, your M.P, is sincere, dedicated and committed for development and she has done her level best for the betterment of Raebareli. The Centre has done a lot of work like cleaning of the water canals, erecting electric poles and wiring, in this region. But the state government is not co-operating with the Centre. No development is possible without the support of the state government,” she added.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra continued “Development comes from four sources - Central government, Member of Parliament, MLA and the state Government. You are aware that in the past 22 years different parties ruled your state and you got nothing except anarchy and corruption. No development took place. The issues in your region are best known to you. If you want to free your state from corruption and anarchy, then this is the best opportunity. You never got such a chance before. Take this opportunity as a challenge to determine your future for the next five years and also to bring in a refined politics”.
“You know the kind of politics which is prevalent here which never bothered about the people. They all work for their selfish interests. Those who are supposed to ensure your safety and security victimize you, instead. You know better than me about the losses you suffered because of the misrule by these political parties.” She reminded.
Concluding her address, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, “You have now a chance after 22 years to change the course of politics, to decide your future and to bring back development in your state. Cast your votes intelligently thinking about your future and progress of your state. Exercise your franchise to free the state from anarchy and corruption. Please remember my words when you go to the polls on 19th and support Congress to bring in a refined politics and a pro-development Government”.
